The global mega-hit fantasy novel Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is getting a stage play adaptation in 2025!
The play is set to show from March to April in Tokyo and Kyoto.
The original work is BL fantasy novel “ Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation” or Mo Dao Zu Shi (MDZS) by author Mo Xiang Tong Xiu that was serialized on a Chinese online novel site from October 2015 to March 2016.
The story is set in fictional ancient China where magic users exterminate demons and evil spirits. The detailed, epic story that depicts the turbulent fate of two people bound by a strong bond and the fascinating characters made such a splash that the novels were even translated and published overseas.
It has been developed into a wide variety of media including a radio drama, manga, anime, live action drama and more with the video series being viewed over 15 billion times. It has become a social phenomenon throughout Asia and its popularity continues to grow, boasting explosive popularity globally.
