Weekly Figure Roundup: November 11 to November 17, 2024
The first cour of the anime Sakamoto Days will air on TV Tokyo and other networks from January 11th, 2025. The second cour will air in July of the same year. Along with the broadcast date announcement, the key visual and the first main PV were also unveiled. It was also revealed that “Hashire Sakamoto” (Run Sakamoto) by Vaundy will be used as the main theme.
Sakamoto Days is a solid action story about a hitman based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki that has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump since 2020 and has sold over 6 million copies. The story follows once-legendary hitman Taro Sakamoto who retires after falling in love one day and who has gained weight to the point of bearing no resemblance to his former self as he fights approaching assassins with his friends to protect the peaceful daily life he lives with his beloved family.
The key visual shows shop owner Taro Sakamoto and his unique friends gathered together under a blue sky with “Sakamoto’s Store” in the background. We can see Shin, the clairvoyant who works at Sakamoto’s Store, former mafia member Lu Shaotang, Sakamoto’s daughter Hana and his beloved wife Aoi, friendly Heisuke Mashimo and Nagumo, a colleague from Sakamoto’s hitman days.
Meanwhile, the main PV shows the peaceful daily life of Taro Sakamoto as he abides by the “Sakamoto Family Rules” and the friends that surround him as well as impressive action scenes that show Sakamoto, who has a 1 billion yen bounty on his head being targeted by assassins.
The opening theme is the original song “Hashire Sakamoto” by Vaundy. Vaundy who is a big fan of the original work says that when he composed “Hashire Sakamoto” he wanted the song to convey the overwhelming strength of Sakamoto who no-one can catch up with and who everyone is chasing behind. In a comment he says, “I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do the recording in London so the final sound is a little different than usual and it’s a song that I feel quite accomplished about.”

Sakamoto Days Unveils The First PV with Opening Theme by Vaundy!
An anime adaptation has been announced for The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows also known as “Yami Healer” which is set to air in April of 2025.
The official X account has posted the teaser visual as well as a teaser PV for the anime.
The anime will be directed by Joe Yoshizaki and produced by studio Makaria with music by Harumi Fuuki.
The main cast was also announced with Shogo Sakata voicing Zenos, Miharu Hanai voicing Lily and Youko Hikasa voicing Carmilla.
The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows is based on the popular light novel of the same name written by Sakaku Hishikawa and illustrated by Daburyuu.

Part 1 of the final chapter of Beastars' anime, “Beastars Final Season” will begin streaming exclusively on Netflix from December 5th.
Beastars, based on the award winning manga by Paru Itagaki that has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, is an ensemble story depicting young animals coming to terms with their instincts in a world where carnivores and herbivores co-exist. In 2019 the anime series produced by Orange, one of Japan’s leading CG animation studios received high acclaim both domestically and overseas.
Beastars Final Season, the long awaited final chapter of the story will be split into 2 cours streaming exclusively on Netflix.
Legoshi has accepted that he is a carnivore and has sworn to become stronger for Haru’s sake. The connections he has left behind at Cherryton Academy and the black market intertwine and he is soon put to the test. Will Legoshi be able to protect “that which is truly important”?
The main PV shows the beginning of the final season in which Legoshi has left the academy and starts a new chapter as he heads into society while Haru and Louis also each go down their separate paths.
In addition to that, the voice actors for the new characters appearing this season have been announced.

Beastars Final Season Part 1 Reveals Main PV and Starts Streaming in December on Netflix!
The manga Otherworldly Munchkin: Let's Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP! written by Yu Shimizu, illustrated by Makoto Aogiri and serialized in Kodansha’s Suiyoubi no Sirius is getting an anime adaptation!
To go with this announcement a teaser visual was released. The teaser visual shows the protagonist Yukito Kirihara and Charlotte, his companion for traveling in another world standing side by side, building up expectations for the adventures that await them.
It was also announced that Mamoru Yokota will direct and the animation will be produced by Durandal.
Introduction
A “munchkin” is a TRPG (Tabletop Role Playing Game) player that has a strong command of the rules of the game and may at times purposefully exploit loopholes to their advantage.
High schooler Yukito Kirihara who loves TRPGs is in the middle of a TRPG game with his beloved younger sister Sana when he is suddenly attacked by a monster from another world and meets an untimely demise.
He is given the opportunity to reincarnate by a goddess Nephilia from the other world (Everworld) and by chance he discovers a description of Sana in Nephilia’s World Book (World Master’s Guide). In order to search for his precious younger sister in the other world he steals the World Book and is reincarnated.
“Unless I become a munchkin, I won’t survive in this world.”
Being a munchkin is a means to surviving in this harsh other world. So begins a TRPG adventure story where a strong will and the dice decide your fate!

Otherworldly Munchkin: Let's Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP! Gets Anime Adaptation
The global mega-hit fantasy novel Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is getting a stage play adaptation in 2025!
The play is set to show from March to April in Tokyo and Kyoto.
The original work is BL fantasy novel “ Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation” or Mo Dao Zu Shi (MDZS) by author Mo Xiang Tong Xiu that was serialized on a Chinese online novel site from October 2015 to March 2016.
The story is set in fictional ancient China where magic users exterminate demons and evil spirits. The detailed, epic story that depicts the turbulent fate of two people bound by a strong bond and the fascinating characters made such a splash that the novels were even translated and published overseas.
It has been developed into a wide variety of media including a radio drama, manga, anime, live action drama and more with the video series being viewed over 15 billion times. It has become a social phenomenon throughout Asia and its popularity continues to grow, boasting explosive popularity globally.
