
The second season of TV anime Ranma 1/2 will be airing on Nippon Television in October 2025. Immediately following the nationwide broadcast on Nippon Television it will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix. Along with the announcement the first PV was unveiled. In it the new characters and cast members were also revealed including Toshihiko Seki as Mousse, Kaori Nazuka as Ukyo Kuonji, Kazuhiko Inoue as Happosai, Ako Mayama as Cologne and Akira Ishida as Hikaru Gosunkugi.
Ranma 1/2 was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from issue 36 in 1987 to issue 12 in 1996. It is by Rumiko Takahashi who is also known for works like Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Rin-ne and MAO. It is a martial arts love comedy that continues to boast immense popularity even today.
The story begins when Genma Saotome and his son Ranma who trained in China arrive at the Tendo home. However the people who show up are a giant panda and a cute girl. As a result of his training in China, Ranma has the strange constitution where he turns into a girl when splashed with water and turns back into a boy when hot water is poured on him. Ranma and others get dragged into the antics of a host of quirky characters and the story unfolds as they laugh, cry and sometimes fall in love.
The completely new anime was broadcast in October 2024 and it became a hot topic especially with the news that the original cast would be reprising their roles. After the 12th episode of the first season aired, it was announced that season 2 would be produced.
